MARION CO., Ore. (KOIN) — A Turner landlord accused of stealing her tenant’s dog during a rental dispute turned herself in Friday after arriving at the county courthouse in a limousine, deputies said.

Brooke Kempton, 39, recently kicked out her tenant Kate Taylor, 30, for being disrespectful, according to Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Two days later, Kempton accused Taylor of stealing 2 of her saddles. She told Taylor’s father she was taking his daughter’s dog, Isis, until she got the saddles back.

“This is a completely bogus accusation,” Taylor said. “I just really want my dog back.”

Kempton’s attorney reportedly convinced her to meet with a sheriff’s deputy Friday in the parking lot of Marion County Jail. She exited the limousine after 10 minutes.

She was arrested and charged with first and third-degree robbery.

Isis is still missing and Kempton won’t tell deputies where the dog is.

Anyone with information on Isis’ whereabouts should call 503.588.5032.
