PPB: Man fights eggs with guns, gets arrested

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Southeast Portland man was arrested early Thursday morning for firing a gun at people inside a car who were allegedly throwing eggs at his house.

Police say 68-year-old William Thomas called police earlier in the day after his home was egged. He was outside cleaning up the mess when his house was egged a second time. That is when he fired his gun.

Witnesses told police a red Ford Taurus was seen speeding away after the incident and the people inside were laughing. Officers couldn’t find that car after searching the neighborhood. They did find evidence of gunfire, including a bullet hole in a nearby house, right next to a child’s bedroom.

Police say Thomas was arrested without incident and the guns in his home were taken as a precaution.
