PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman in her 30s was found slain inside a home in Northeast Portland after a witness called with a report.

Nearly a dozen Portland police units rushed to the 6600 block of NE Glisan after the report around 1:20 p.m. Detectives found the woman and a seriously injured man at a home in the 6600 block of NE Glisan. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators told KOIN 6 News this was a domestic dispute between a man and woman and do not believe the public is in any danger. But they’re still trying to figure out what happened.

The man in his 50s had bandages around his midsection as well as his neck. Police said he is a person of interest in the case and they are not looking for anyone else connected to this case.

Neighbors told KOIN 6 News they are shocked and uneasy.

“This whole neighborhood is nice,” Ali Sheikh said. “My kids live here, I want to raise my kids down here. When stuff happens like this I have to lock my doors.”

Glisan was shut down in both directions for the investigation.
