OREGON CITY, Ore. (KOIN) — A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Oregon City.
Oregon City Police were serving a warrant at a residence near S. 2nd St. and Tumwater Dr. when the suspect resisted arrest. That is when the man was shot.
Officers began first aid and Lifeflight was called but the suspect died at the scene.
One officer received minor injuries during the incident but was treated and released from a hospital.
The man, who was in his 30s, hasn’t been identified by police.
Neighbors say this isn’t something that happens often in Oregon City.
“They blocked everything off immediately and said it was a crime scene and vehicles who were here, they said they couldn’t take their vehicles out for awhile,” Cindy Benda told KOIN 6 News.
The Clackamas County Major Crimes Team is investigating.
KOIN 6 News will update this developing story.
