PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland Police are asking for the public’s help in locating two stolen tricycles.
The tricycles belong to 65-year-old Wink Harner, who is in a wheelchair. She told KOIN 6 News the tricycles, which were custom made for her, were stolen from her home’s porch in the 2200 block of SE 145th Ave.
Officials say they were stolen sometime between September 24 and 25.
Harner has a congenital birth defect and can’t walk. She uses the trikes for physical therapy and exercise. They came at the insistence of a doctor.
Harner said she lost her job on Tuesday and has no way to earn enough money to replace the tricycles. Harner has a message for the thieves.
“You have no idea what you took from me. It wasn’t bicycles. You took away my independence.”
