PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 39-year-old man is accused of using a shovel to assault his neighbor, according to police and court documents.
The incident happened on July 5 when Frederic Johnson became involved in a neighborhood dispute, according to court records. There was reportedly some kind of back-and-forth argument between the assault victim and other neighbors.
Johnson is accused of hitting the victim in the face with a shovel, police said. He was arrested and charged with first-degree assault.
He was arraigned on July 21 when a court appointed defense attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. He is scheduled to be back in court on Friday.
His bail is set at $250,000.
