Woman flashes gun, robs SE Portland bookstore

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 44-year-old woman is accused of armed robbery after a small local bookstore was held up in Southeast Portland Monday night.

Wallace Books, 7241 SE Milwaukie, was robbed around 7 p.m., police said. The woman brandished a handgun and left in a car with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police spotted the woman, later identified as Hilary Leah Bishop, driving on SE McLoughlin Boulevard. She was taken into custody a few blocks later.

Bishop now faces 2 counts of 1st-degree robbery and 3 counts of 2nd-degree robbery.She’s also believed to be responsible for robberies at Palio Espresso on August 7 and at Clogs & More on August 15.
