PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A former babysitter is going to prison after he took a plea agreement on charges related to two girls.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reports (http://bit.ly/2cfsjpa) Robert Lee Hill pleaded no contest to the sexual abuse of a relative and attempted sodomy of a girl he and his wife were hired to watch while the child’s father worked.

Hill was sentenced to more than six years in prison.

He is required to register as a sex offender upon his release.

A charge of witness tampering related to his estranged wife’s testimony before a grand jury was dismissed, as were charges of first-degree rape, sodomy and unlawful sexual penetration.

Prosecutors indicated there were problems proving some of the case and declined to provide further details on the lighter sentence.
