PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Lyft driver was attacked by a woman and her two friends on Saturday night, ending with one young woman being arrested.
The driver, Tommy Ly, told KOIN 6 that he picked up a group of passengers in NE Portland who asked to be taken to Happy Valley. He said he was driving them on I-205 when one of the women passengers asked to roll down the window. Ly said it was raining so he rolled it back up and put a child lock on it so she couldn’t roll it down again.

The passengers, according to Ly, then became irate and yelled profanities at him. They demanded to be dropped off and Ly said he tried to reason with them to let him drop them off somewhere safer than the side of the freeway.
“They started beating me in the back of the head, they’re like ‘You’re kidnapping us! Let us off right here, right now!'” Ly told KOIN 6 News. “I was struggling to keep my car straight while they’re beating me in the back.”
He pulled over and let them out, but the passenger in the front seat stole the driver’s tip box and wallet. He tried to steal Ly’s phone, too, but he was able to wrestle it away from him.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and arrested one of the passengers, Emily A. Wilson. She is charged with harassment and resisting arrest. The other two passengers were not arrested.
