GRESHAM, Ore. (KOIN) — A suspect accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old Gresham woman last week was arrested Tuesday morning thanks to help from the public, police said.
Orion Storm Mears, 25, was taken into custody just before 10:30 a.m. on the 14500 block of SE Division Street in Portland, according to Gresham Police Dept.
Multiple sources reportedly helped police identify Mears after the woman reported being approached on SE Powell Valley Road. She told police the man forced her off the sidewalk and sexually assaulted her.
Parents at several local schools were notified of the incident.
Mears is lodged in Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, first-degree kidnapping and first-degree robbery.
