PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The death of a 20-year-old man whose body was found in a Gresham park Saturday morning is now officially being investigated as a homicide.

James Issei Arrington was found face down near the baseball field at Main City Park in Gresham around 9 a.m., Gresham police said. Detectives continue working to piece together exactly what happened.
Arrington had been arrested October 20, 2016 in Multnomah County on a DUII and menacing charge.
Neighbors who saw the police activity say it makes them nervous to know a body was found.
“It’s always a little nerve wracking because there’s a large homeless population that hangs out under the covered space over there so we’ve had a couple weird situations, people come knocking on our doors in the middle of the night. Like weird things,” nearby resident Taylor Hacmac said.
Anyone with information is asked to call 503.618.2719.
