PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Package thieves were caught in Portland and in Salem, one by police and two by homeowners.
In Portland, a 22-year-old man is accused of snatching packages that were supposed to be delivered to a residence in the 600 block of Southeast Hogan Street.

Damon B. Blanchard is charged with one count each of second-degree theft and mail theft.
According to court documents, Blanchard was seen standing next to a bag that contained packages. One of the packages had a United States Postal Service tracking tag on it.
Blanchard told police he took 2 packages and a padded envelope and then walked away from the residence the packages had been sent.
He is due back later this month. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf on Thursday in court.

In Salem, homeowners Ashlee and Abdullah Ibrahin had 6 packages stolen off their porch. Police said they installed a camera system, then placed a box with clothing inside it.
Around 11 a.m. Thursday, their system alerted them someone was on the porch. They could see two people grab their package and put it in a shopping cart and red wagon.
Police arrived and another neighbor said the couple was seen in a nearby car port. That’s where Eva Duke, 40, and Paige Butler, 26, were arrested.
They were taken to the Marion County Jail for theft and trespassing.
