PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN — A 20-year-old is accused of causing damage to several food carts in the Parkrose neighborhood.
John Patrick Lynch was supposed to appear in court on Thursday to be arraigned on charges of second-degree burglary, criminal mischief and third-degree theft. Court records indicate he didn’t show up.
According to court records, earlier Thursday morning, Lynch was seen walking near a food cart at Northeast 118th and Sandy Boulevard. The officers heard glass breaking. When the officers stopped Lynch, he had a backpack, a water bottle, soda cans, cookies, bagels, energy drinks, zip-bags, a crowbar, hammer, a speaker, and a wireless hotspot device.
Lynch reportedly admitted that he used the crowbar to prey open one of the food cart doors.
Officers inspected the food carts and found damage – including broken doors and broken windows – to three food carts.
Because Lynch didn’t appear in court on Thursday, a warrant has been issued and he is ordered to appear in court on Feb. 2.
