PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A 22-year-old man admitted he raped an 18-year-old woman and will now spend 14 years in prison.
The Portland Police Bureau’s Sex Crimes Unit announced the plea and sentencing Justin Allen Weber on Monday. Weber entered guilty pleas on September 3, 2015 to one count of first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and first-degree sexual abuse. He was also convicted of two counts of first-degree sodomy.
The investigation started on Nov. 8 2014. The woman told police that the assault occurred on Nov. 2. Officers said feared coming forward because she thought no one would believe her. A friend of the victim convinced her to come forward. Based on the victim’s report, officers were able to locate the crime scene and collect “vital evidence” that assisted in the investigation, according to police spokesperson Sgt. Pete Simpson.
