LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. (KOIN) — What started out as a suicide call for Lake Oswego Police ended as a murder investigation and with the arrest of a 50-year-old woman.

According to police, officers were called to a home on SW Boones Ferry Thursday evening on the report of a suicide. When officers arrived they found 36-year-old Joshua Westbrook dead, but they say it was clear it was not a suicide.

Westbrook was originally charged with manslaughter but after an appearance via video in Clackamas County court Friday afternoon, the charge was upped to murder.

Westbrook is being held at the Clackamas County Jail. The state is classifying this as a crime of domestic violence and the investigation continues.
