PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two robbery suspects were caught late Wednesday night with the help of the Portland Police Air Support Unit.

Kendall Kuhns, 43, and Gary Doser, 47, are accused of robbing the Original Joe’s restaurant located at NE 102nd Ave. and Halsey St. about 10:45 p.m. Police tried to pull over the suspect vehicle, a 2015 Chevy Equinox, but the driver was evasive and police lost sight of the SUV.

Police say the Equinox was stolen from Enterprise Rental.

Police eventually arrested Kuhns in the area of NE 101st Ave. and Bell Dr. They also found cash, clothes and a handgun believed to be used in the robbery. The handgun turned out to be an Airsoft replica.

The Air Support Unit spotted a heat signature in the area that looked like a person hiding behind a fence. Turns out it was Doser and he was arrested.

Police accuse Kuhns of being the robber and Doser of being the getaway driver. They were both booked into the Multnomah County jail. Police think they could be responsible for other robberies in the area.
