TANGENT, Ore. (KOIN) — A transient burglary suspect who reportedly confessed to his crimes was arrested Thursday, deputies said.
Jason Allen Burkett, 38, of Medford is accused of burglarizing Orson’s Greenhouse INC on N Lake Creek Drive on Wednesday, Linn County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies identified Burkett from a sweatshirt he was seen wearing in security video.
He was reportedly living in a vacant semi-truck trailer parked on Orson’s Greenhouse INC property. Burkett confessed to the burglaries after being contacted by deputies.
The stolen property was seized from a garage at McFarland Mobile Home Park.
Deputies recovered clothing, electrical cords, hand tools, knives and cell phone chargers. The items were reportedly stolen from 7 victims, deputies said.
The property was returned to its owners.
Burkett is lodged in Linn County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary, second-degree theft, 5 counts of third-degree theft, third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal mischief.
