Woman shot in attempted murder-suicide in SE Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The estranged 24-year-old boyfriend died of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot after he allegedly shot the woman shot early Saturday morning

The shooting happened around 6:30 a.m. in the 12400 block of SE Raymond Street. Officers arrived and found the 22-year-old woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was rushed to a hospital for surgery, and officials have not released her condition.

The man’s body was found behind a fence around Se 134th Drive and Holgate Boulevard. A gun was found, and his car was found in the 13100 block of SE Long Street.

Witnesses told police they heard multiple gunshots and the sounds of a vehicle speeding out of the area.

Based on preliminary information, the Domestic Violence Reduction Unit (DVRU) is responding to assist with the investigation.
