The boy told officers we was riding his bike to school Wednesday morning between 9:30 and 10:00 when a man jumped out of the bushes near N. St. Johns Avenue and Smith Street. The man ran after the boy.
The child told police he fell off his bike, but got back on and rode to school. The suspect apparently chased him for two blocks.
According to the boy, the man who chased him was in his 30s, 5’10” tall and 240 pounds. He was wearing a black ski mask, a black button-up dress shirt, black sweat pants and black shoes.
Officers checked the neighborhood but did not find the suspect. They also didn’t find any homes or business with surveillance video.
