GRESHAM, Ore. (KOIN) — A man pulled over during a traffic stop allegedly placed a fake 911 call to get out of his traffic ticket.
Salvador Sanchez-Buenrostro was pulled over shortly before 1 a.m. around NE Kane and Olvera, Gresham police said. The officer found the driver’s license was suspended and was writing him a ticket.
At that moment, police received a 911 call about shots fired in the area. The call was traced back to the area of Kane and Olvera, police said.
The officer once again contacted Buenrostro, who allegedly admitted making the fake call. Instead of a ticket, he was arrested for improper use of 911 and taken to the Multnomah County Detention Center.
