PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two women are accused of stealing assault-style rifles from a Northeast Portland pawn shop in the early hours of Sunday.

The pawn shop, Hawker’s Locker at 933 NE 82nd, was burglarized around 3:20 a.m. Sunday, police said. A witness told police somebody entered the building, then left with a large item and climbed the fence to leave.

A Volkswagen Jetta parked in the area had 2 people inside, later identified as Alicia Renee Hawkins and Angela Megrant. Police said they spotted 2 assault-style rifles inbetween the front seats. They also found 2 stolen knives in the car.

Investigators said Hawkins, 50, broke a window to get into the pawn shop. She and the 44-year-old Megrant were arrested and face 2nd-degree burglary and being felons in possession of a firearm.

They’re being held in the Multnomah County Jail.
