PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An man with a rifle was arrested outside the Federal Courthouse in downtown Portland Thursday evening.
Department of Homeland Security officers arrested 27-year-old Matthew Mglej after he brought a rifle concealed in a towel into the controlled area around the courthouse.
The towel slipped off the rifle and DHS officers saw it. Mglej dropped the gun and was taken into custody.
The rifle was not loaded, but did have an empty magazine in it.
Mglej was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on the charge of unlawful possession of a firearm. DHS also cited him for a federal firearms violation.
Mglej was previously arrested for indecent exposure outside the same courthouse for playing a violin while naked, but that charge was dropped.
