PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 26-year-old man was sentenced to 100 months in prison for raping a woman he knew through mutual friends, a Multnomah County jury ruled on Monday.
Rashid Kambarov was convicted of rape in the first degree after a 31-year-old woman accused him of raping her in January 2015.
The woman was receiving medical treatment at a hospital when Portland Police detectives were notified about the case. They said the woman told them what happened and that the man was known to her through mutual friends.
They located the crime scene at the Montavilla Motel and tracked down Kambarov. They also found evidence in his vehicle.
