PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 46-year-old man was arrested with dozens of stolen handbags after being pulled over for a traffic violation Monday, police said.
Officers reportedly pulled Bradley Gene Gallagher over around 3:40 p.m. on the 9200 block of SE Stark Street and got consent to search his car.
During their search, officers found approximately 60 new handbags with price tags still attached, according to Portland Police Bureau. A Google search reportedly helped them determine the bags came from a local business, Appetite Shop.
The owner of the store told investigators the bags were left in a van after a craft fair and stolen during a break-in in Southeast Portland, police said.
Gallagher was arrested for first-degree theft.
The handbags were returned to the owner of Appetite Shop.
