PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Residents of the Montavilla neighborhood spent their Labor Day weekend sweeping up glass and calling their insurance providers after a vandal blasted out car windows with a BB gun.
Kirk Hilyard spent Monday night crafting a makeshift window for his car.

“There’s glass rattling in the bottom of the door still,” Hilyard said. “It’s up and down the street, it’s not just us it’s the entire neighborhood.”
The vandal targeted cars on Multnomah Street near 80th Avenue.
“I just heard it coming from that way like ‘pew, pew, pew,'” neighbor Jessica Fischer said. “I didn’t hear a car so maybe they were on a bike or something.”
Fischer said she heard the ruckus around 1:30 a.m. Monday. She woke up in the morning to find police at her door, alerting her that her car window had been shot.
Officers estimated some two dozen cars were damaged in the vandalism spree.
“There’s no lighting along here so I think that’s one of the contributing factors,” Hilyard said.
There are currently no known suspects in the case.
