SALEM, Ore. (KOIN) — A Salem homeowner whose app alerted him to a break-in at his home called 911 to report the crime in progress, which led to 2 Portland residents being quickly arrested.

The incident in the 8000 block of Squirrel Hill Road SE began shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said. The homeowner was at work when his Ring Video Doorbell app let him know what was happening.
He opened the app and saw a man trying to kick and pry open the front door. Deputies arrived and spotted a man and woman matching the homeowner’s description.
Apollo Charles Biggs and Sheryl Annette Loschiavo, both 38, were arrested. Biggs is charged with attempted burglary, criminal mischief and a warrant for a parole violation. Loschiavo faces conspiracy, unlawful possession of meth and attempted burglary.
