PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Emergency responders found a man dead in the middle of Southwest 1st and Clay on Friday night.
After a preliminary investigation, police said they believe “a small white vehicle struck the deceased male during this incident” and that officers hadn’t located the vehicle at this time.
These areas were closed for over 3 hours while police investigated: Southwest 1st Avenue is closed to all traffic between Southwest Columbia Street and Southwest Market Street. The area between Southwest Naito Parkway and Southwest 2nd Avenue is also closed to all traffic on Southwest Clay Street.
Police said they don’t know the cause of the man’s death and they’re awaiting the results of an autopsy. Emergency responders first went to the scene due to a reported injury-accident.
