COLUMBIA CO., Ore. (KOIN) — A St. Helens man who stopped his truck near Deer Island to help a disabled motorist was reportedly robbed and assaulted, and now Oregon State Police are working to identify a suspect.
The incident happened between 5:45-7:20 a.m. on December 21, OSP said.
Charles Rice, 60, said he was eventually helped by a Good Samaritan after the incident on Hwy 30 near milepost 33, according to police.
The suspect was reportedly in a dark Toyota-type SUV with Idaho license plates and a rear window decal displaying a dysfunctional stick figure family with an adult, animal and 2 kids.
He is described as a white man in his mid-20s, 5-feet-10-inches tall with slicked back blonde hair and a large round earlobe piercing. He was reportedly wearing a camouflage jacket with dark fur around the hood and black cargo pants.
